Cricut Explore

Well I jumped on the Cricut Explore bandwagon and broke down and bought one only a month after I had bought the Brother Scan and Cut. Both machines have awesome features and they each have features that the other one doesn't. I plan on using both of them to enhance my card making and scrapbook layouts. Like all crafters out there I have tons of material that I need to use up.

I have been watching tons of YouTube videos on how to use both machines. I found Debbie O'Neal's blog http://www.scrapmequickdesigns.com and she has some very good tutorials on there. So after making the one card that the Explore wants us to make after we open our box I decided to try this card. I was very disappointed that my pen that came in the box was almost already dry. REALLY....I have only had the machine for two days!!!

Here is the card that I decided to make as my second cut on the Explore.

Here is Debbie's video on how to create this card. She even provided a couple of SVG's to download.

After I cut my card out and used the dried up pen for the writing feature I went back and outlined the letters in the word HAPPY with my Pentel Slicci gold pen. Of course it does not look as good as it would have had my pen not been dried out. I then sprayed the entire card with Radiant Rain shimmering mist in Ice color (29044). I added washi tape at the bottom and white paper on the inside to highlight the shadow cut outs. Oh and since the pen did not show up I went back and cut the letters for the word Birthday. Not quite how Debbie's card came out but pretty close.

Go check out Debbie O'Neal's blog and try to make this card. I know if I can make it then anyone can. TFL!

May Flowers...Use Your Stash Bloghop

For this month's Blog hop we were to make flowers in any shape or form. Flowers are awesome and they come in many shapes and colors. You should be coming from Cassandra's blog her flowers were beautiful.  Don't forget that the blog hop makes a complete circle so if you get lost go back to the beginning to Katy's blog to see the complete list.

I love to make rolled flowers and I don't like to use a pattern.  Just cut a square and start cutting.  You can make any size flower. I made a canvas and I got my inspiration from  the CTMH 2013 spring/summer catalog. There was a canvas on page 16 and it featured Chantilly paper.
I used promotional paper pack Dotty for You (CC1017). I just cut a bunch of squares and started rolling away. I included Garden Wooden Shapes (Z1718) from the 2012 catalog and Pretty pins (Z1148) from the 2009 Autumn/Winter catalog.  I added Crystal Blue card stock (1292) and inked the edges with Chocolate ink (Z2111).
Now head on over to Joy's blog and see what an awesome job she did with her May flowers. TFL!

CTMH MAY TECHNIQUE BLOGHOP FEATURING BASE AND BLING

Hello fellow bloggers welcome to May's technique bloghop. This month on the CTMH techique bloghop we were to feature the new Base and Bling featured in our 2014 catalog. Base and Bling is the new line being offered and it is normally used for necklaces. My fellow consultants and I will like to show you  how all our products can be used in other ways not just for their intended purposes.

You should be coming from Michelle Loncar's blog wasn't her technique great!! Remember that all our blogs make a complete circle so if you get lost along the way just go back to the begining to Debi Barber's blog
to see the entire list. Be sure to leave some love to each and every blogger. We like getting love.

I choose to do a card. I know there were many ways that I could have shown differant ways on how to repurpose our base and bling but I found the perfect paper to go with my card. I made an A2 card featuring a 4x6 card that looked like lace from the "Picture My Life Ballon Ride Scrapbooking program. This is in CTMH's version of project life style of scrapbooking. The entire set is only $24.95 (Z1948) and come with a huge assortment of 4x6 and 3x4 cards.  Go check them out in the catalog or go to my site and order a set .https://tmorrowstreasures.ctmh.com there are 4 sets to choose from and so far I love them all.

My card is a standard A2 card and features a 4x6 Picture My Life card I did have to cut it down to fit on the card. I used stamp set Tailor Made C1442 which has been retired. I stamped all the images in Archival Black Ink (44751) and cut them out on my Brother Scan N Cut machine. Don't you love how precisely the BNC cut the images. I then colored them with my set of  Promarkers that I won in a blog giveaway. I won an entire set of  148 markers. I used the following colors: Amethyst, Tulip Yellow, Warm Grey2, Putty, Poppy, Powder Blue and Bright Green.

Okay so now down the main feature: the Base and Bling.... I used the Faux
Antiqued Gold Square pendant (Z1963) with the Base and Bling Glass Square covers (Z1967). Then I found the perfect sticker for my card. It was found on Style sheet "N" (Z1975). I added my pendant to my card with Color Ready Seam binding ribbon (Z1732) and tied a nice little bow. I used 3-D foam tape (Z1151) to pop up the smaller images. The rest of the Base and Bling designs can be found on page 80-81 of the Spring/Summer Catalog 2014. Go check it out and remember you don't have to make a necklace with the Base and Bling just look at how my fellow consultants used theirs.

Now hop on over to Lisa Plummer's blog and see what awesome technique she used to show off her Base and Bling, TFL!!

Scrapbook Folder Folio

I have read that scrapbook folder folio are the hottest things in the scrapbook world right now. So after looking at YouTube I found a couple of videos my favorite came from SuperHappyscrapper  She has the coolest video tutorial and  produced at least 4 videos. Here is her original video Superhappyscrapper

Here is my version of her folder folio.

I used a paper pack from Hobby Lobby called Simple Stories.  It had project life papers. This is a really cool paper pack cause all I did was cut and mount to cardstock. TFL!
