12x12 mini album

I found this youtube video on the internet the other day and had to try this. Very easy and only uses 2 12x12 pieces of paper. I used the bulk Superhero paper from CTMH. I also used the Cricut Art Philosphy cartridge only found at CTMH. Go to youtube and check out this video pocket page insert dated 10-20-2011 from myliltreasuretrove. This lady is awesome! TFL!

Sidestep card

I found this tute on YouTube and I used Bella paper from CTMH. It only uses 1/2 of an 8 1/2 sheet of paper. I kind of mixed old with new. I love this paperback. So pretty. TFL!

Teeny tiny mini book

ThIs little mini was found on JannBdesigns.com blog dated 09/27/2011. All you use is 2  2x12 pieces of paper and scraps for tags and 2 chipboard pcs for the cover. You can see how tiny it is compared to a mini Reese's peanut butter cup. I say this every time but this really easy to make. I used CTHM paperback Topstitch for the paper.  It is so cute I plan on making more. I called it the "little book".  So cool. TFL!

Blogsy App from iTunes

Omg I found this great app from iTunes called Blogsy. It allows me to add to my blog site with my Ipad2. This app is totally awesome so you definitely will be seeing more post to my blog now that I know how to do it. So excited! The app costs $4.99 but it was worth every penny. Now I can post my creations instantly. Sorry not trying to promote iTunes but with so many iPhones, iPads, and all other techno gadgets on the market I thought this was a great app to have in your growing number of apps. TFL!

Magnetic board

One Sunday after a team meeting a bunch of us ladies drove to Michael's to use our 40% coupon plus the addition 25% off. Anyway I found this 6x9 metal initial board for $3. I covered it with some older CTMH paper added bling and wooden buttons and magnets with rolled flowers added to to top. I punched holes in it with my crocodile added ribbon and some twine to complete the look. Someone admired it at the retreat and she just may be getting a special treat. This is a very quick and easy project. I think I spent 30 minutes making it. A great way to use up old paper packs. I think I spent more tome looking for ribbon than I did creating the item....lol!   TFL!

Valentine card I made for my honey

This is a 5x7 card I made for Adam. I used an older CTMH stamp set. I also used bling from last season. I used the technique reverse grid where you add grid lines and then stamp on the negative. TFL!

Correction

I actually used 3 5x7 card bases not envelopes for this mini album. Sorry for the confusion. These are sold at HL and are the Paperstudio large card pack, 50 come in the package and they sell for $9.99 but use your 40% off coupon for a bigger savings. You can use the envelopes to make a different mini album. Just think of how many albums you can create with one package if envelopes.

superhero mini album

This is the mini album made using 3 5x7 envelopes from HL. The idea came from a file folder mini album only on a smaller scale. You can cut your envelopes however you like. I decorated the mini with the superhero paper from CTMH. TFL!

LONE OAK RETREAT

Our adventures began on a blistery Thursday morning. I arrived at Joy's house at around 10:45 am. I see Glenda and Joy standing in the driveway pointing at their watches. I was only a few minutes late. Scott helped us transport the 1000's of pounds of scrapbook paraphernalia into a 500 ton van, with only three seats in the van we were able to load lots of stuff.

We stopped and ate lunch at Braum's where I had a wonderfully delicious banana split. Believe me I ate every bite!

We finally arrived at the ranch after taking the wrong turn but hey we were able to see some beautiful land as well as some nice homes.

We unpacked and immediately started scrapping. Joy, Glenda and I were some of the few lucky scrappers that arrived on Thursday. All three of us actually got a lot accomplished Thursday night. On Friday the rest of the ladies showed up. It was awesome to renew friendships and make new ones. We had a room full of happy scrappers........NO MEN ANYWHERE other that Matt who runs the show. For those of you that had a crush on Matt he is now off the market. He is a newlywed!

Boy did the weather turn cold quickly....Friday night it got down to 30 degrees. That did not stop anyone from scrapping. Many ladies stayed up until the wee hours of the night. I finally gave in at 2 a.m.

Melissa had many challenges for us to participate in and they were all fun. One challenge was to make a card using our 3-d shapes. Of course Joy and I entered the contest and pushed each other to finish in the timeframe given to us which was one hour. I told her now I know how the chefs feel in the show "Chopped". I told her our contest was called "Scrapped". Only 5 ladies participated and I am happy to report that Joy placed in 1st place!!

Over all the retreat was wonderful. I was able to finish my swap challenge for Joy's swap which includes a 12x12 layout and one card. After seeing the items Joy and Glenda made I knew I had to step up my game. I also made a tea bag holder, a mini scrapbook, a valentines card, and a  magnetic board.

I met some really nice ladies at this year's retreat. I would like to give a shout out to Mary and Jessica for showing us their copic skills. I would like to thank Christi and Wendy for letting me ride with them to Winstar Casino in Oklahoma. We had a blast.

I would like to thank all the ladies that came to my table and complimented my mini albums and my skills. You guys really made me feel good. Thanks to Lauri for purchasing my Roxie mini album. That was a great surprise that someone wanted to purschase something I made.

I am now home and all my stuff is in the living room. One day this week I will unpack. I just wanted to enjoy being home and basking in the memories of the retreat.

Thank you Joy and Glenda for being such great roommates and scrapmates. I am looking forward to next year.
