With baseball and softball season upon us my friend came to me and asked if I could make her some flipflops for her so she could show support for her daughter's softball team. I was up for the challenge. First of all I had never cut open a softball so that was a challenge right there. And where to make the first slice. I felt like a first year residence makimg my first cut on a body.

She saw the idea on my favorite site Pinterest. You can find all sorts of cool projects on this site. Okay so I searched and the flip flops I saw only had 5 petals. I wanted a six petal flower. I cut a oval shape from one of my cricut cartridges and proceed to cut the softball. Well once you cut into the ball the string starts to unravel. Panic set in then I remembered I had some wonderful clear glue from CTMH called Liquid glass (Z679). So every time I cut an oval out I put the liquid glass on the string to help it from unraveling. I was able to get two 6 petal flowers out of one ball.
Here is a close up of how the flowers turned out. I did not have any baseball buttons so I blinged it up with some bling from CTMH. For my first time I think they came out pretty good. I added some teal ribbon to match the team colors. I hot glued the bling and the flowers to the sandel.
Here is a close up of how the sandels turned out.
I also made her a necklace with some baseball charms and added her daughters initail "K" and her team number.
I think that Kelsie will have the coolest mom at the ballpark tonight. I love making one of a kind items for friends and let them show them off for me. TFL!!

This month we are featuring Bling showers. We all love bling and we all have plenty of it. This month we were to feature bling in any shape and form that we have. You should be coming from Judy Faye's blog. Wow she can really bling things up.
Ever since I was a little girl our family has always gathered for Easter Sunday. My sister and I and 1 boy cousin were the first children there. Now in 2014 we have over 75 family and friends attend our annual Easter celebration.
CTMH has new Picture My Life scrapbook programs. You get 44 - 4" x 6" cards and 78 - 3" x 4" cards and 1 - 12" x 12" Designed cover sheet and 10 memory protectors all for $24.95.
We started our celebration on Friday night and continued until Sunday afternoon. We had relatives from all areas of Texas show up. The weather was so beautiful and no rain in the forecast. The colors of this Picture My Life Skylark Z1947 goes perfect with what everyone was wearing. The bluebonnets were in full bloom as well as the Azaleas. I plan on putting a 5 x 7 photo of the girl cousins and my mom with her sisters in the slot for the photo.
I have always wanted to do a Picture my Life book and the Skylark paper was perfect. I took at least 200 photos if not more. The sayings on the card will be perfect for my Easter book. I used the following bling1104 Sparkles down the side and on the flowers and the bird's eye. I used two word accents Z1882 in the upper left corner and in the middle on the right hand side. I used the metal flowers Bulk319 and aqua dots Z1853. I also sprayed the page with Radiant Rain shimmering mist called solar gold. It is made by Creative Imaginations.
From here head on over to Shirley's  blog and see how she blinged up her project. Don't forget that our hops always go in a circle so if you get lost along the way go back to the beginning to Janet's blog
to see the complete list of all the blog hoppers. I hope that everyone had a good Easter. I certainly did. TFL!

CTMH Technique Bloghop

Welcome to this month's technique blog hop, this month we are featuring embossing folders. CTMH has a great selection of embossing folders. This is our first year to carry them and they did a great job.

You should be coming from Michelle's blog . She showed an awesome way to use the embossing folders. Don't forget that this hop goes in a circle so if you get lost along the way go back to the beginning to Shirley's blog to see all the ladies participating in this month's hop.

I decided to make a Father's Day card for my Dad. I used a retired paper pack called Dreamin'
X7142B. I also used Chocolate ink Z2111 and square studs Z1705 in pewter also retired.  For my stamp set I choose one of the hostess stamps B1448 My Hero. I used embossing folder Quatrefoil Z1926. I used a card recipe from My favorite Things pattern MFTWSC58. I embossed all the papers and then inked them all in chocolate to give them depth. This folder reminds me of a Turkish bath house. Not that I have ever been to one...lol. I think the card came out really nice. I am sure that my Dad will love it.

He has kept most of the things that we have made for him throughout our lives. I love to visit and check out his special drawer in his dresser where he keeps all his special gifts. He still displays a Dad and me mini album that I made for his birthday 5 years ago, His birthday is on November 11 and mine is on the 9th.

Now head on over to Judy Faye's blog and see how she used the embossing folders. TFL!
