I went to target the other day and visited the $1 bin area and found these cute little sand buckets. I decided to decorate them for my two youngest grandchildren. I used my Cricut Explore and used Life is a Beach cartridge for all the images. I used outdoor vinyl. the boys are only 2 and 3 months old but I thought they deseved a little surprise. Cooper loved his plus all his goodies. Bryce just drooled all over his....lol. They were a hit. I will need to go back and get some more for my other grandchildren. TFL!!

Zippie Use Your Stash Bloghop
It is that time of month again for a CTMH bloghop...this month we are featuring Zipstrips. You should be comimg from Katy's blog wasn't her use of zipstrips awesome. This hop is a big circle so if you get lost along the way go back to the beginning to Adeline's to see the complete list.
What are zipstrips? Well zipstrips are 1/2" strips on top of all our B&T Duos papers. Some of us may just cut them off and some of us use them in layouts or on cards. Our challenge this month was to use zipstrips that we usually put to the side. I choose to do a box card. Box cards are the rage right now and they are the cutest cards ever. There are lots of YouTube videos out there on how to make them. My Favorite tutorial came from Splitcoaststampers she does a very good video.

Here is my idea of how to use zipstrips
I used Babycakes paperpack X7173B as well as the Babycakes My Stripease Assortments X7173C for my box card. I also added the Babycakes wood rimmed badge buttons Z1869. I LOVE this paper pack!! I dangled my images with some acetate that I had cut off of a package. You really want to use thicker acetate so it can hold your images up.
The zipstrip that I used featured the word baby and I lined my flaps with this strip. This is my first box card. I will definitely be making another one. Now zip on over to Sheila's blog and see how she used her zipstrips. TFL!

You should be coming from Haley Dyer's blog wasn't her technique awesome. We have some very talented ladies on the hop this month. Remember that the blog always goes in circle so if you get lost along the way go back to the beginning to Debi's blog . If you feel like it please leave some love at all the blogs as my fellow crafters all put in a lot of work into making the bloghops hopping.
Our goal this month was to show how versatile this program really is. You can use these cards in layouts, cards or like I did in a mini album. I love to make mini albums and I follow some very talented ladies on YouTube one of my favorites is SuperHappyscrapper. Her name is Shandra. She gives clear and precise instructions. I made the large version of this album called the Scrapbook folio and now she has made a smaller version. This one measures 9" x 7". The larger one measures 9" x 11".
I apologize for all the photos but I wanted everyone to see how I used the Picture My life program. I used a lot of the 3 x 4 cards as tags and embellishments throughout the album. I used 13 cards in my mini. I also used the Babycakes stripease assortment X7173C and the Babycakes My Reflection Paperpack X7173B. I made my base of the album with kraft paper from Micheals. I inked all my edges with Brown Bag ink Z2108 (retired) and used Bronze adhesive back ribbon Z1849. Sorry the pictures are lined up backwards. I also used the Cricut Explore to make several cuts. Carts used were Baby Shower, Nursery Rhymes, The First f
Few Years, Wild Card, Mickey and Friends and Artbooking. Thanks everyone for looking and now head to Debi's blog to she how she used her Picture My Life Program.

Present for Laila
My cute little niece celebrated her birthday on June 4th and she turned 9. She loves Hello Kitty and has her room decorated in Hello Kitty.
I went to our local scrapbook store and they were using Inka Gold Metallic Rub on a project and I thought it was a cool item. The salesclerk also showed me some Faber-Castell Gelatos...wow two cool products. So I had to go out and buy some. I have also wanted to do a textured canvas so what a better time to start. I used all kinds of things from my stash. I think it turned out okay for my first time. All I cared about is that Laila liked it. She did and she put it up in her room.
I cut the Hello Kitty and her name with vinyl and kept it on the canvas and laid down my color. Then I put Mod Podge over the canvas to seal it. The only thing I did wrong was not wait long enough for the ink to dry and some of it smeared. Lesson learned....play the waiting game!!

Cricut Subway Art
This obviously is going to be a Cricut month. I am really putting my Cricut and my creativity to the test. My boyfriend Adam has created a "man cave" in my apartment and went with a baseball theme, He has lots of baseballs, memorabilia and baseball seats and jersey among other things in his room. Since we live in a historical home we really can't put anything on the walls since it has the original plaster still on the walls.
Well a canvas isn't really very heavy so I went the net and typed in subway art. Wow there are thousands of choices. I kind of got an idea of what I wanted to make so I turned to the Cricut and just started looking for fonts to match words. My canvas was 20x15 so I had to come up with a lot of words and images. Everything but the bats came from the Cricut design space. The bats were cut with my Brother Scan and Cut. I used outdoor vinyl in black for the letters,
I was right in the middle of creating my project when the lights began to flicker and my battery on my laptop was flashing and I was about to save my project when everything went black....ohhhhh noooooooooooo please, please say I that I pressed the save button in time. We packed up the laptop and ran to a friends house that still had power and thank goodness the save button was pressed in time. It turns out that someone had an accident and hit a power line and knocked a transformer down and knocked out power in a 5 mile radius. I don't think anyone was hurt to bad.
So for my first subway art it came out pretty good. So take the plunge like I did and make a canvas. Once all the letters were laid out I painted my canvas with Mod Podge to help hold the letters down and to create a shield from dust and dirt. TFL!

Cricut Explore Split Letters
Wow I think I got a hang of doing a few things with the Explore. There is a learning curve on using the new machine. There are so many nice people on Facebook and on YouTube that have made videos and have made it easy for me to learn.
One of the coolest things out there is the split letters...where you pick a letter and divide it in half and put a word or last name in the middle or just leave it blank. I decided to jump on the band wagon and give it a try. There is one lady in YouTube land that has a great video and here is her link if you would like to go check it out.....craftinandstampin she gives very good instructions.
I have made four split letters but have only put one of them on canvas. The second one went on my door in my scrapbook room. I need to buy two more canvases.
The possibilities are endless on what letters you can use and what words you can use. Here are my photos. TFL!
