September card class

This month Joy featured Babycakes for card class. She designed some really cute cards based on babies...they are all cute. Thanks Joy for another  great class.

Lake Sommerville

I work on the weekends for my friend that has a food service and we sell our wares at all kinds of festivals thouhout East Texas. This particular weekend we went to Lake Sommerville and this was the sunset there..I love sunsets and this one was pretty awesome. TFL!

52 CARD SWAP

These are the cards I made this year for our CTMH 52 card swap coordinated by Linda Caler. We get a catalog twice a year with CTMH and then we decide what cards we want to feature and we all make 26 each of two of our favorite stamp sets and use new products. This is a cool way to get a card made with all the new stamp sets in the catalog. My sets were Eek and Shriek and the Proplayer work shop on the go. Thanks to Linda for doing such a wonderful job organizing this whole event. TFL!

As usual Joy outdid herself in card class. This month we used the Claire paper pack from  CTM.  Thanks Joy for a great class.

I found this tutorial on YouTube under MsLiberty25 dated April 21, 2013. It is at the end of the video which is about 45 minutes long. I used Chantilly paper from CTMH. I also used the AP cricut cart to cut the flowers. TFL!

Doodling

It is funny how many of us doodle without realizing that we are. Altered art is really hot right now and doodling is a big part of it. But if we are asked to doodle we get scared because we think that we are  doing it wrong. There is no right or wrong just do it. Thanks for looking and doodle on!

April card class

As usual Ms. Joy outdid herself with this month's card class.This month she featured the For Always paperpack from CTMH X7165B...all of the cards came out great. This paper pack is kind of a wedding theme but as you can see no wedding cards were made. We all had a great time creating these cards. Thanks Joy for a great class!

BUZZ AND BUMBLE MINI ALBUM

I used the Buzz and Bumble paper pack as well as the stickease assortment, the wooden buttons and the bling. I got lots  of inspiration from Pinterest and from cards made and received. TFL!

March 2013 Card Class

These are the cards we did at our monthly card class with Joy. Aren't they so cute! As usual Joy does a wonderful job designing cards for us. TFL!

Team meeting

Our team leader Joy have us this at our meeting tonight and I wanted to take this to work as a reminder not to let weeds clog up our minds. There are so many negative things going on that it is nice to think of the positive. This will be a daily reminder not to let the weeds take control of my life. TFL!

@BOOK MINI ALBUM

I saw this mini book on Pinterest first and followed the link to www.favecrafts.com/papercrafts posted by Maureen Wilson on 09-21-2012. I used the mostly CTMH products and a few other things I had in my stash. Thanks for watching.

Block card

I found this tutorial on Pinterest under Block cards by Papercrafters45. This card only uses a piece of cardstock 4 1/2 x 12 and another piece 4 1/2 x 1. I used an assortment of items that I had in my stash.  I was trying to go for the shabby chic look. There is a you tube video made so you can see her directions. TFL!

Get well card

I made this card for my fellow crafter and teammate when I found out she had gallbladder surgery.  She is in full recovery.  I used craft paper for the card base and DCVW paper for background. I used a CTMH stamp for the sentiment and stamped it with black Momento ink so I could color in the roses with my Promarker pens.  TFL!

Sugar Scrub

This is a bottle I made out of the Starbuck bottles. I used Dotty paper from CTMH paper. I used my new promarkers pens to color the lid. I rolled some roses for the front and wrapped pink tule around the bottle

BONDING MEMORIES GLUE

re-sticking my Cricut mats)

make re-sealable envelopes!  Just put a line of bonding memories glue on Jenvelope flap, let air dry and you have a re-stickable flap!  

temporary adhesive when masking (another image), if I can't stamp on a Post-It

cover the face of chipboard or paper with the glue then sprinkle it with prisma glitter.

trace stamped images with it then sprinkle on the glitter.

Best adhesive for gluing paper to My Creations items like the blocks or star. Make sure you have good "blue" coverage from edge to edge and hold for 30 seconds.

very economical adhesive.

QUILLING TOOL

Hook Ribbons to push them through a “slot” in the cubes to make a hanger for it!   

BONE FOLDER

one of the best weighted and shaped ones out there.  (curve in place for between thumb and index finger

use this with my 3D Artiste Cricut items…folding those lines could not be done Jwithout the bone folder!

I use the bone folder to "curl" edges of flowers, leaves, borders, etc. (rub with round end on VersaMat

 Use the bone folder like you would a pair of scissors to curl ribbon.  I place my item down on my piercing mat or the foam side of our versamat for stability.

I use it a lot for faux stitching – especially great for non-straight lines. 

 I recommend everyone with a Cricut have one handy to use to score and fold all cards and 3-D items for crisp edges.

SPONGE DAUBERS

Washable

Must have at least one for each color family, or why not one for every color! 

With sponge daubers, I like to use one for each color family. I'll label the side "orange", "red/pink", "blue",etc.

Ink distress edges, makes a nice, “tight” sponged look on the papers (as opposed to round sponge )

Also, like to use these to come in on the corners of my papers when sponging…so instead of just the edge being sponged, The entire corner is colored and then blended out to the edges.

also I use them for chalk application.

I also use Sponge Daubers on masked images (stamp the image (like the scotty dog we had a while back, cut it out.  Keep the outside, discard the inside of the dog.  Use the sponge dauber to color the fur of the dog.)

I like to do a quick-coloring technique with them by creating a stencil & sponging through.

Stamp an image on glossy or thick cardstock. Cut it out (or portions of the image) w/ an xacto knife. Stamp same image on paper, lay stencil over top & sponge through. It makes a quick, almost air-brushed type of look.

Use sponge daubers to add colors to Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon

I love using the sponge daubers to color chipboard and irresistibles.

I also like to heat emboss with clear detail powder and use my sponge dauber to create my own resist pattern on paper and chipboard.

FINISHING FILES

I use the finishing files to even out the edges of the chipboard – clean off the nubbins from punching them out

to make paper blend in with the my creation items when I cover them.  

I use the handles to curl paper and roll flowers when my tweezers or quilling tool are not within reach.

I use these all the time for finishing edges on projects, especially wood, FABULOUS for a clean edge.  Sell them by the boat load at expos because I always incorporate their use in one of the hands on projects

The piercing tool is great for picking up opaques and sparkles – and especially the bitty ones - as you want to add them to your work.
