BABY SHOWER CENTER PIECE

A friend at work asked me if I could make her a center piece for her friend's baby shower. I love to make center pieces and this one was pretty easy to do. She wanted something simple and her theme was nautical. Well CTMH had the perfect paperpack called Tommy. The colors matched perfectly with her invitations. What a coincidence. I used my cricut to cut out the shapes and hot glued them to wooden skewers and put them in the metal buckets. My co-worker said that they were a big hit at the baby shower and she plans to put them in her nursery. It is nice to know that our creations are going to be used over and over and not just thrown out after the event. TFL!

I make hair bows which uses ribbon, I crochet which uses yarn and I also do some sewing which use fabric. When I signed up for this hop I just shook my head and said what was I thinking. Well it turned out that working with fabric wasn't really all that hard. I made some fabric flowers that can be used for scrapbook layouts, cards and even a hairbow or two. Once I started to think about it I realized that just about anything I can make with paper I can make with fabric. I hope that you like my project. CTMH TECHNIQUE BLOGHOP

I made a card this month. I used C1581 Inspiration Flourishes Flair stampset. Slate ink Z2173 was used second generation to stamp around my square stamp. CTMH TECHNIQUE BLOGHOP

A new year is upon us as well as a new technique bloghop.  You should be coming from Michelle's page wasn't her project awesome. Here is a link back to her page if you want to go see it again. http:www.michelleshandmadeworld.blogspot.com This month we are featuring the overlays from the Cricut Art booking Cartridge. I used three of them. The sunburst can be found on page 52. The fence is on page 71 and the tree is on page 72. The fence is actually a border but it still worked. I have been wanting to make a large tag for a long time.  I really like the way it came out. I cut all the pieces on vinyl first. I then just gently laid it on the tag. I used ink daubers to get the ink on. I used stamp set C1570 Lifting Spirits. Occasions. I used a combo of 11 different inks. I also used outdoor Denim Z1808 Chevron Ribbon and tired it with some bakers twine. I plan to put this tag on a layout. Pink scarf

Another knitting loom creation. The knitting loom is really fast and let's you create cute projects. I used two strands of yarn. The pink yarn is Red Heart super saver yarn. The eyelash yarn came from Hobby Lobby and is called Pink Passion Gilt Eyelash yarn. The scarf came out really soft and thick since I used two strands of yarn. The scarf is 46 inches long and 4 inches wide. Some lucky girl's neck will stay nice and warm. TFL!

Knitting Loom

A friend at work introduced to me to the Knitting Loom this past week and I have been going crazy making scraves To tell the truth really just going crazy buying yarn. I went from having one ball of yarn to having like 20 balls of yarn. Sooo back to the loom, after watching numerous videos on YouTube I decided I was ready to take that first step.  Wrong! OMG how can something on YouTube look so easy but be so hard?? After several attempts of trying to figure out which way was right and which was left I finally got the hang of it and now I consider myself a pro...well semi-pro...but really a novice with lots of yarn. I love to use the chunky yarn which really comes out so soft. I have been to Hobby Lobby and to Micheals so many times this past week it is not even funny. I have also found some practice yarn at Big Lots for $1. These scarves came out so cute so they became Christmas presents for my young nieces. So needless to say....a new hobby has begun!! Not that I needed a new hobby..my craft room is a mess but it is a  big room so what is a couple rolls of yarn added to the ever growing stack of hobbies on the back burner. So here are the first three scraves that I have loom knitted. I think they came out really nice. I wish I could keep them all but I will be giving them away to my sisters and to my mom and my daughter in laws (2). So off to the races because it is the 23 and my sister comes tomorrow. Use Your Stash Bloghop

This month's bloghop was all about glitter.  Today I used Bronze glitter Gel Z1483 which is retiring so go shop for it now and I made these bows for presents. Aren't they cute! I used retired paper called Pear and Partridge (2012). I used the WRMK Envelope punch board to make the bows. It only takes 3 strips of paper measuring 1x6 and 2 at 1x5. This is a great way to use up your left overs. December 2013 CTMH Technique Bloghop

  For this month's bloghop we were to use the CTMH Spray pen Z1380 and make something cool. I made this 12x12 layout with retired paper Pear and Partridge (2012). I sprayed my background with Ruby Re-inker Z2270. I cut the snowflakes various sizes using CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge Z1790 and layed them on the 12x12 sheet and sprayed with my spray pen loaded with Ruby ink. I then used the snowflakes as added emblishments on my layout. I hand cut the banner at 2 1/2 x1 and cut the letters at 1" using the Artiste. Here is a close up of the masked area. Sometimes we forget to use the tools that we have on hand, that is why I enjoy this bloghop because it reminds us of what we have on hand but never use. Again thanks for looking.

Christmas wreath

Another project made with the Sparkle and Shine paper pack from CTMH. I cut the rosettes at 2 3/4, 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 inches wide. I cut the snow flakes out with my Cricut Art booking Cartridge. I love this paper. TFL!

Chalkboard countdown wreath

I saw a version of this wreath at a scrapbook store in Waxahachie, TX. It was so cute so I decided to make one for myself. I used CTMH paperpack Sparkle and Shine X7176B. I also used some Teresa Collins paper for the calendar.  I outlined the banner pieces with red stickles. I used sizzix dies for the letters. I cut the leaves out of CTMH cardstock and used the Anna Griffin Cricut cartridge called Winter Wonderland. CTMH red chevron ribbon was used for the bow.The center is chalkboard paper and a large sodapop cap. I also sprayed the entire piece with Radiant rain shimmering mist. TFL!

Star Wreath

I made this wreath with an old paper pack I had in my stash. I cut the stars with my Cricut at 3" and 4". I made the rosettes at   1" 1/2" & 3/4". I sprayed the entire wreath with Radiant Rain shimmering mist. TFL!

CTMH TECHNIQUE BLOG HOP

Welcome to November's CTMH technique using cardstock only no B&T. I decided instead of making a card or a layout I would make a 3D item. I made a Tussie Mussie which is a rolled cone decorated anyway you like. I made this into a fall theme so I could give it to my mom so she can use it as a decoration for Thanksgiving. Hooligan Tussie Mussie

I made this for my Gandson Cooper for Halloween 2013. I used the retired paperpack from CTMH called Hooligans. I learned how to make these from YouTube. There are lots of tutorials out there. Cooper really didn't know what this was considering he is only 18 months old. But I enjoyed making it. TFL!

 

TUSSIE MUSSIES

I have never heard of a tussie mussie until the other day. Wow was I amazed when I saw all the YouTube videos on these Mussies. There are some really cute ones out there so I decided to give it a try. I made this for my grandkids. I used an assortment of paper that I had in my stash. Pop Up Acetate card

I really love YouTube because they have the coolest tutorial videos ever! I saw this cool video called pop-up card using Acetate Technique. Here is the link:

 I used a variety of Cricut Cartridges and assorted paper to make this card. I just used acetate from a package that I had opened earlier that day. check out Paige Dolecki's video. She is a fellow CTMH consultant and has some really great tutorials on her site. TFL!

 

Mini folders

I saw this cute YouTube video the other day on how to make these mini folders. They are so cute and look just like the big  folders that you use for school. These are perfect to fit a few photos in them or even a business card with a gift certificate to buy some awesome CTMH products.This is also a great way to use up left over paper. I used retired CTMH papers. The folders were made on Papercrafter45 YouTube site and it is called Mini 2 pocket folder dated September24, 2013. here is the link to her video

The folders measure 3-1/4"x 4-1/2' when done and only use a 7-1/2" x 6-1/2 inch sheet of paper. TFL!

Birthday Bottle

I made a birthday bottle for a lady at work out of a 2 liter Dr. PEPPER BOTTLE. I filled it with her favorite candy. I used a paper pack  from CTMH called Dream Pop and used the Cricut cartridge Artiste and Artbooking. I used acetate from a package to cut strips for the ballons. They look like they are floating in the air. TFL!
